Dear Applicant,

We extend our invitation for your participation in the Hayat International Excellence Recognition (Hayat Recognitions). The Hayat Recognitions is designed to recognize and celebrate achievements of Hospitals/ Medical Centers (Hospitals and Transplant Programs) & their OPOs and relevant authorities at local, regional, and international levels for their exceptional contributions to advancing living and deceased donation and transplantation. This recognition will take place during the UAE Annual Organ Donation and Transplantation Congress, scheduled for Jan 27- 30, 2024. Candidates have the opportunity to participate in several recognition categories.

Hayat International Excellence Recognition

The Hayat Recognitions are granted to Hospitals/ Medical Centers & their OPOs and relevant authorities globally, acknowledging their excellence in organ and tissue donation and transplant related service for their outstanding efforts.

This recognition accolade is open to all hospitals/ medical centers offering critical care services, and submissions could be supported by their stakeholders health authorities, and/or OPOs. The successful Hospitals/ Medical Center nominee will demonstrate excellence in the following six aspects of delivering deceased and living organ donation services:

Leadership and Functional Management
Deceased and Living Donor identification, diagnosis, referral, evaluation, and management
Deceased and Living Donor Family experience
Transplant outcomes, logistics, and organ donation auxiliary services
Public Awareness, Education, Continuing Training, and Research in Organ Donation
Workforce wellbeing, and health equity

This recognition is crafted to honor the outstanding achievements of Hospitals/ Medical Centers and Transplant Programs that have significantly influenced the field of organs donation and transplantation. Hospitals/ Medical Centers and Transplant Programs aspiring for this recognition must demonstrate how their vision and operations have fostered a culture of excellence, providing clear and measurable examples of success.

Hayat Recognitions

Launched in 2023, the Hayat International Excellence Recognition (Hayat Recognition) recognizes the exceptional performance of hospitals/ medical center & their OPOs and relevant authorities involved in organ and tissue donation and transplantation services worldwide. The winners of the Hayat Recognitions 2024 will be unveiled during a special Recognitions Ceremony and Gala Dinner at the conclusion of the UAE Organ Donation and Transplantation Congress, set to take place at the Conrad hotel on Sheikh Zayed Rd – Trade Centre – Trade Centre 1 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 27th January 2024.

Categories of Recognition

Outstanding Hospital

Commending the performance and accomplishments of active hospital/ medical centers with the highest potential for organ donation.

Noteworthy Achieving Hospital

Recognizing the hospital/ medical centers that has achieved the most significant percentage growth in organ donation over the preceding three years.

Committed Hospital

Acknowledging hospitals/ medical centers that have successfully executed at least one deceased donation or in the process of starting soon while demonstrating robust plans and commitments to applying best practices and key performance indicators (KPIs) in the organ donation field, ensuring sustainable growth.

Innovation and Creativity

Honoring innovative solutions implemented by hospitals/ medical centers or OPO to enhance the process and outcomes of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.

Eligibility and entry rules:

  • Hospitals and healthcare service providers (government, public or private).
  • Hospitals can submit in more than one category
  • Submission could be done directly from hospitals, OPOs/ relevant authorities or jointly
    between hospital and OPO/ relevant authorities.
  • All information including the supporting documents must be submitted in English.
  • All entries need the endorsement of the organization’s CEO, President, Hospital Director,
    Chief Clinical or Medical Officer, or Chairperson of the Governing Board OPOs or regional
    authorities (use the endorsement template below).

Submission guidelines:

  • Entries must be submitted through the Hayat Recognitions online submission platform, or
    complete this template if you have any challenge to apply online.
  • All entries must be in English, and abbreviations and acronyms must be defined.
  • Submitters must choose the category to enter with more submissions being possible per
    hospital.
  • Each category will have a dedicated online entry form, which will require submitters to
    provide basic information about the organization.
  • Submitters can upload up to twenty relevant documents in PDF and Word file format.
    Maximum upload file size is 32MB.
  • Links to videos may also be submitted as supporting information.

All questions must be answered unless marked optional.
